Counting My Blessings - the pros and cons of them

  1. After 6 weeks of no longer using my fingernails as 'tools' and taking care of my cuticles I no longer feel ashamed of my hands when I am learning how to play Bridge. But I now have to do that prissy ladylike way of holding things and pushing buttons with the pads of my fingers to preserve my long nails. I also keep hitting the CAPS LOCK button by mistake with my longer finger nails.

  2. Financial worries have eased somewhat after receiving Carer's Allowance. But I don't get time to go out to the shops to spend any of it - apart from Boots Chemist for nail care products.

  3. I have bought a '3 Easy Steps to Deep Relaxation' CD. But I've listened to it 4 times and only finished step 1 so far - on step 2 I keep falling asleep. Heaven only knows what step 3 will do to me, if I ever get that far.

This was a cute post. I know that way of holding the hands to protect the nails all too well. And I had to laugh about your CD. At least you are getting your money's worth out of it though if it is getting you to relax right to sleep! ;)

Well falling asleep during a relaxation CD is just about as relaxed as you can get!
Good for you getting the nails nicely shaped etc.

Hmm, Step 3 might be really exciting, maybe you should jump straight to it next time, or you'll never know!!

I wish I had beautiful nails, I chuckled over your funny comments on mine. It's the little details that make all the difference - shiny shoes, good haircut, nice manicure...

Glad to hear the allowance has arrived, well done for sorting that out. I should think you made social services quake! Good for you, well deserved. I've just read your other post - - Hugs X

Just take a screwdriver and prise off the 'caps lock' key. And the stupid 'Num lock' key (either you want it on or off). Nobody every uses those keys, do they, except by mistake?

Thanks all for your comments. i nearly had a relapse this morning in the shower. The sun was a streaming in straight on to the chrome mixer tap where it beautifully highlighted the chalk deposits between the hot/cold mixer tap and the back plate. Before I knew it an index fingernail was down and in that wee gap and scraping out chalky crusted deposit before you could say 'manicure'!
