Is It Art?

Is it Art? - an unmade bed, a pile of bricks or a wall of recycled rubbish? I am usually of the opinion that this is not art. Regardless of any prize awarded.

However, Carl Warner's 'Foodscapes' are amazing. Every part of this sunset idyllic scene is made up of food. The sky is made from salmon (I've heard of a mackerel sky before) the sea also is salmon. If you look carefully the 'boat' is a pea pod. The rocks and pebbles are made from bread or potatoes, the sand is sugar. It is well worth going over to the photographer's web site to explore further images. If you want to see more of his FoodScapes then you will need to visit his website. Once you have entered his website follow the links by clicking on the Orange coloured box then choose the 2nd folder for his Foodscapes. They are all fascinating. His other portfolios are of interest as well. Go and explore. Enjoy. This is Art.

Yum! Art you can eat. Maybe you know the book "Rude Food"; it's artistic too, in a sculpural sense. Sort of.

Talking of tv ads. There's a great one of a car made entirely from sweets, cakes and jelly. Very clever. Although, I have no idea what car they're supposed to be advertising!

Hi Lady Thinker! I have tagged you for a meme about household tips and hope you can participate - I'd love to see what you can teach me! But as always, there is never any pressure or rush from me to do a meme.

LT, great find, who cares if it's 'art' or not? It's incredibly well done (no pun intended) and it's fascinating to look at.

Toby, I think that's Skoda.

Reminds me of a modern art group which I used to attend called "Eat Art", although we used to dine amongst rather than on the paintings.

Thank you all for visiting. Had a few minor health problems in the old homestead so not been able to blog much this last week. I'm pleased I was able to leave it with something interesting to look at for a week!
