And why are all the local councils complaining about losing money in Icelandic banks? They seem very surprised. Why?
I took my money back several months ago at the first whisper of a downgrade in the stability of the Icelandic banks. I know we are unable to 'trust' any financial institution in todays market but at least I've kept my money in the UK and just hope the Govt will continue to safeguard my precious savings.

LT, fret ye not, it is inconceivable that depositors will lose money deposited in ordinary accounts with UK banks. I am a total pessimist and cynic, but that is one thing of which I am absolutely sure.

Penny, how would you like to get shot of that stripper from your site? I can't eat, can't sleep and, worst of all I can't get my housework done! Now, El Engineer tells me he is hooked on her, too, and he and I (and I'm sure everybody else) are asking the same question? You *know* what question. ;-)
