Another daily task that would be good for us, is to take time to count our blessings or to think of 3 Beautiful Things. The 3BT rule. I wrote a posting recently on this theme after I had found Clare's original site called 3BeautifulThings.
Today:
- the smell of freshly mown grass and damp earth as I worked in the garden
- the warmth of the sun and the sound of birdsong as I sat enjoying the peace of the garden
- picking rosy red Discovery apples, their scent evoking childhood memories. A better crop than I was expecting as the apple trees have been rather neglected this last year or two.

I sent you an email response Penny. It may look like it's from someone else as it is from my gmail account and I couldn't get the name Teeni so it may be from tea nee1 or something similar (I can't remember - very bad memory). Anyway, the 3BT idea is a wonderful one! I always end up feeling better when I truly try to be grateful! Thanks for sharing this easy little way of doing it!
good start to the day - well done Penny!
Oooh, are the Discovery's ready? I love Discovery apples and the smell of them is something else. Such a shame the season is so short.
Thanks - flower.
Welcome Mut and Meander - well I started to pick em down here in Devon - loads of them yet to ripen. Nice to see you.
That's a very sensible idea Lady Thinker and a lovely happy post to read. I shall go and contemplate my 3 things now...
I've just seen your adopton post on Wifey - what a good idea! I'll adopt you if you'll adopt me....:)
Merry Weather - I anonymously adopted you ages ago when I christened you Ducky. Everyone in our family has nickanames.
So what do you need - a big sis? But must warn you I'm a bossy one -just ask my little sister. Or an Aunt? or a Granny? {I don't knit though)
A big Sis would be fine thanks Lady Thinker, I had noticed your bossiness actually. It's one of the things I like about you..... :)
I am trying to curb my enthusiasm for bossiness. I make fresh efforts daily.
I read this post just after the one about "fear and grief", so thank you for the happiness antidote to the sadness feeling! It's a great idea. I had a go, couldn't stop at three, and now feel much, much better.
Gosh AMKT - you couldn't stop at three - you must be a thrice blessed woman - but you didn't share them with us - were they wickedly indulgent?
