I was examining my vital statistics this morning. I see I'm nearing the figure of 2000 readers on my stat counter. I am beginning to think that I should consider awarding a 'prize' for my 2000th visitor. However, some visitors obviously arrive in error. Headline grabbing Post Titles such as 'Vital Statistics' will draw a few people in - but after one fleeting look - they leave without even scoring .05 seconds on the site meter. I don't feel these 'visitors' really count. However, I am considering awarding the prize to the first 'true' reader who makes it to the stat counter as soon as 2000 folls up.
The prize ? Wait for it - this is a goodie - will be a link in my blog roll for a month; regardless of subject matter but it must be legal and not considered too offensive. So if you want to claim a prize and the meter is near 2000 - do leave a comment so I can trackback to your blog for a link. The judges decision is final. No family members may take part.

who could resist such a luscious prize? I shall sit and wait with baited breath..
I had no idea you could do all this! Sometimes I feel very innocent... Would I count as sort of virtual family on the prize thing? No? Oh, but I'm already there, shucks...
I haven't gone back to work yet, still looking around. It's raining of course and the kids are happily playing tennis, the toddler's rearranging the bookcases beside me, books all over the place, hmm, life's normal - fine.
Hope you didn't get flooded in Sidmouth?
I like the Richard Madeley place you've listed - ha!
Now I've just read your other post. Really! Can you tell who's visiting you?
That is enough to put me off blogging Thinker. I was thinking of coming back and opening a kind of virtual coffee bar as well...
I shall have to reconsider - this is too scary! (Creeps off shivering) x
Merryweather - How lovely to see you, Ducky. No, no floods thisaway.
Whether you'd count as family would not matter - I still have your link active.
Be re-assured the details on site meter are very basic - but I'm sure MI5 or MFI would be able to get a lot more gen on our internet activites if alarms bells sound. So no mention of terroist, Tony Blair or dirty bombs.
Re the virtual coffee bar then it sounds as if you need to join the virtual world site. Make loads of dosh via your study.
I'll come again - you make a lovely welcome, Thinker!
Ooh - what's the virtual world site? ...Money?
I'll wait to hear more :)
(only 29 more visits to go!!)
hello again! =)
About virtual world site, yeah, I first thought that it was useless, but it could be a really good marketing for some store. Think: all the people that enter on this "world" could see and choose your product, and later, in "real world", buy it (i had read that some mark, like Coke/Coca-Cola, for example, have a chain store in second life).
We read us later! Bye
P.S: I hope be considerated a 'true' reader soon
P.S.2: again, am sorry if i wrote wrong something =P
It's a fascinating business this sitemeter stuff - moments of fun to be had looking up what google searches have shoved people in through ones virtual door.
Hello Merryw again - shouldn't you be out on the jobsearch trail? Not that you're not welcome - we all missing you. If you want to start a virtual business check out my blog on this opic and click the link to second life.

Dear NeoRichard: You ARE a proper reader - it must be even harder as English which is not your first language - or do you take the easy option and get a Google translation? I had to use the translation service for your poetry but I imagine the subtle nuances become lost in the translation. Best wishes
Mopsa - I know it's funny isn't it. Do you know the one that I get most hits on from google search is

I thought the different spelling would put off the overlarge folk hitting on my blog by mistake but perhaps I'm picking up all the bad spellers?!
This is four comments now, no wonder I haven't got a job yet.
I see, it's Second Life, I had heard of that - thanks and no, it's not me. I have got a sitemeter now though. Good grief. This is worse than SatNav...
take care!
Hello Flowerpot - don't go blue in the face now - readers not coming online thick and fast - perhaps the weekend will have em flooding in. Nice to see you,
wow that's incredible! I've definitely gone blue - or is it purple?
Erm .. am I missing something? (Story of my life I guess.)
Lizzie x
I love looking at the statistics..
It is quite fascinating!
Eek, am I close?
ooh - i popped over and there it was - 1999. couldn't resist being the 2000th. (although my computer is on a go-slow so that might very well NOR be the case). Congrats.
NOR? no, NOT. brain on go slow too.
Your stats are wrong. I saw u got only 467 hits on yor profile. HOw do u know how many have read your blogs without going thru your profile? I dont know if such a mechanism exists. Anyway, I aint salivating for your much touted prize. Just thought i would leave a comment.
Btw Flowerpot shoud brush up her spelling. It isnot "baited breath" but " bated breath"
Congratualtions MOPSA - you were in fact the 2000th visitor to the site and you left a comment - but as you already have a link on my blogroll I will award the prize to the runner up who is:
http://www.blogger.com/profile/06654724794859077478
and will receive a link for the month of August. Even though he doesn't appear to be over excited at the prospect.Congratulations.
As to Flower's spelling of 'baited breath' - we don't know what she ate for supper last night - so she may have been correct in the first place!
And thanks to all who took part.
I can't resist one last word - surprising how many comments this post generated. I'm beginning to know how Rilly Super feels now [well almost]
actually, 2036 is the magic number, because my visit number is actually almost the same as the number of comments on this post
Well really Rilly - how well spotted of you! but rather than counting up other bloggers comments shouldn't you be posting something for us poor devils who are in middle of withdrawal symptoms - we need a laugh girl. If you short of ideas how about doing a Judy's Answers to Richard Madeley's blog. I know its school hols etc but you could wirite in the early hours of dawn. Writers have to make sacrifices you know.
oh dear, yes, things have been rather slow lately, sacrifices; sometimes I just don't know if I have anything else in life to give up, sigh...
