Colour Prejudice

Yep - I have to admit it. Hands up. Fair cop. I am colour prejudiced. I can't help it. I try to be politically correct and all that. I KNOW it's the person rather than the colour but....

I have often read the Swearing Mother's blog. I like what she says. I enjoy many postings when I do drop in. But I am so sorry. I just cannot stand certain shades of green. My eyes are always first and foremost drawn to the peachy/pink/red/mauve side of the colour spectrum. Even at the opticians when he asks me which is the clearer; the circle on the red or the green background? I have real trouble deciding. I so love the red. We get there - eventually.

I love the various greens of nature. And have many evergreen shrubs in the garden. In fact I've several plants grown just for their green flowers. So why this difficulty with pages on books, colours of cars, clothes, interiors.? Thinking about, it I'm OK with colours up to the blue range. But Yellow also is not really my 'thing'. Apart from daffodils in spring. I'm slowly removing all the yellow flowering shrubs from our garden. Orange is OK.

I'm sure that somewhere there will be a test to find your personality via colour choice. Yes there is and having completed it - guess what colour personality I am? Well I never would have guessed. Try it out for yourself. Updated NB 15th August - If you compete the questionnaire you don't have to complete the form at the end - let it compute your answers then if you look carefully you will eventiually see at the top of the page a yellow box to click to "View Results".

Pink is, I'm afraid, a pet hate and gets deleted asap from any aspect of my surroundings. On the blog front though, pink is fine and I hate the black backgrounds - so unfriendly and difficult to read.

Well I did it and I'm yellow, but I always find with these sort of questionnaires that there are several questions and I think, I'm both of those - or neither!

Penny, I cannot believe that I'm BROWN! Anyhow, I agree with Flowerpot and questionaires are a minefield, I know as was involved in the making of them during my Masters stuff, yonks ago.

Whoa, what a racket!! I know already what my preferred color is and I went along with this out of mild curiosity right up to the point my name and address etc. were required. NO WAY JOSE!! I get enough email from Nigeria already. (check out www.sweetchillisauce.com some rainy day)

It's blue btw. And strangely enough I find like pink on girls.

Hi there Mopsa - I'm glad that my (initially very bright n lurid) pink blog didn't put you off me! I know what you mean about the black ones.
Flower - I'll have to think of you as a daffodil in future - I always pictured you as a poppy.
Lizzie - not brown - I'm always thinking of you as a genteel, mauve - kind of wisteria colour.
I'll now have to go and see what the write up on these colours says about the two of you.

Hi Thinker - That was fun. I'm Brown, like Lizzie - in good company :)

What colour are you?

My true colour is red!

Your colour is red, the colour of racy sports cars, blushing cheeks, and luscious roses. Red symbolises passion, romance, and love. So, since you're ruled by red, you probably trust your feelings more than your brain and tend to act spontaneously. If you see something you want, you go for it without thinking twice -- impulsive is your middle name. You don't wait around for people to make decisions, either; you dive right in. Quite the romantic, you pay close attention to your emotions. In fact, if your heart isn't in what you're doing, you won't be satisfied. Of course, even when you do pour all your energy into the projects you tackle, your impetuous nature means your passions can shift as frequently as the wind. That's why some reds have trouble with commitment. Our advice? Next time you're feeling fickle, think before you act, if possible. You might be surprised at the results. Overall, though, it's great to be red. No one lives life more completely than you do.

Hello Merryw - I didn't realise the link didn't save my results - so it's printed off above. Glad you all back from holiday safely. Perhaps the weather will now change for the better.

Hey that's so cool Thinker... You're a lady in red! Maybe that summary is helpful as you and your husband map out your future? If you know who you are and what you're looking for you can go and find it?

I like your picture, it looks enticing/intriguing - hope you get to keep it, I don't understand this copyright stuff either ... x
